Mr Alasdair MacInnes

Mr MacInnes began working in NHS Tayside in 2010 after graduating from Medical School. He undertook specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in the East of Scotland rotation, spending time in Dundee, Perth, Inverness and Edinburgh.

His practice includes lower limb arthroplasty (hip and knee replacements) and revision arthroplasty for both hips and knees. He offers general trauma care for a range of injuries, including pelvic and acetabular trauma and rib fracture fixation.

Following completion of specialty training in the East of Scotland, and being awarded Fellowship of the Royal College (FRCS Orth), Mr MacInnes embarked upon a specialist pelvic and acetabular trauma fellowship at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Major Trauma Centre in Glasgow. He then undertook an international fellowship in revision arthroplasty in New Zealand, before returning to Tayside to accept a consultant post in 2022.

Mr MacInnes has a passion for teaching and training and was honoured to be voted trainer of the year in 2024. He facilitates the regional ‘arthroplasty meeting’- in which the most complicated surgical cases are discussed.

Mr MacInnes has previously been the team doctor for St Johnstone FC and retains some ties to the club.
