Prof Deborah Eastwood

Professor Deborah Eastwood is a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon with dual appointments at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. She also serves as an Associate Professor at University College London. She was President of the British Orthopaedic Association (2022–2023) and previously served as President of the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society, reflecting her outstanding leadership at both national and international levels. Her research interests include developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) and neuromuscular disorders, and she is a strong advocate for early screening and patient-centred care. Professor Eastwood has developed extensive international collaborations through clinical fellowships, visiting professorships, and global educational initiatives in paediatric orthopaedics. In her ‘spare’ time, she enjoys watching sport – more than participating these days – and making the most of life in London.
